The Union Limited Maluti" ran from Cape Town South Africa in a broadly circular route via Worcester, Kimberley, Bloemfontein, Port Elizabeth, Oudtshoorn, George, Knysna, Hartenbos and back to Cape Town. The train was steam powered on most sections and included 5 different Classes of Beyer Garratt, Classes, 19D, 23 and 24. Most famously 2 days were hauled by No 3450 The Red Devil. Three different mixed trains explored the Barkly East branch with its six reverses, the Lootsberg Pass and a special working from George to Camfer and return. Additionally a day was spent on the narrow gauge Apple Express with NG16 Garratt No. 131.

Our 3rd video about steam in southern Africa. The Cape Extravaganza tour ran from Cape Town to visit many of the branch lines in the western Cape including the lines to Ashton, Malmesbury, Berg River, Graafwater, Protem and Porterville. Mixed trains were a feautre especilly with Class 26 'The Red Devil' and the GF Garratt to Berg River. The train climbed Sir Lowry's Pass and the 1:40 incline from Bot River with double headed Garratts.

Classes 25NC, 19D, 16A, 16D and 15F are used in South Africa and within Zimbabwe the train is hauled by 14A, 15A and 16A Beyer-Garretts.
