 | Welsh Highland Railway Reborn The Welsh Highland Railway has now been re-built south from Rhyd Ddu to Porthmadog and is gradually being opened in sections. We look at the whole railway including the opening days for the sections through Beddgelert to Hafod y Llyn, special trains and events such as Halloween and Christmas. Then there is the Garratt 50 event celebrating No. 143's construction with more than fifty Garratts in attendance. There is a footplate ride from Hafod y Llyn to Rhyd Ddu using a mini-cam mounted on the engine plus other footplate and lineside footage.The Welsh Highland Heritage Railway is covered with a variety of visiting locomotives and a look at the Gelerts Farm Museum.  | Quarry Hunslets Today DVD The Quarry Hunslets of North Wales were all 0-4-0 saddle tanks designed for use on the 2' gauge quarry lines of the slate industry. They were built over a lengthy period from the 1880s until 1932.Although similar in appearance there were 8 different sub classes with small engines for use in the quarries to larger engines used on the tramways and main lines. Many of these locomotives have been preserved and work today in museums and tourist lines across Britain. Our film looks at 23 of the 36 survivors across the country and traces the history of these wonderful little engines.

A Day in the Life of Taliesin and K1 DVD Two very different articulated locomotives. Taliesin is a single Fairlie 0-4-4 tank running on the Ffestiniog Railway. It was built as recently as 1999. K1 is the first Garratt type locomotive built in 1909 and is the only compound locomotive currently running in the U.K.A day with Taliesin includes lighting up and footplate coverage as the locomotive brings the Victorian trainset from Minffordd Yard to Harbour Station, then returns for a rake of tipper wagons and flat trucks. K1 is prepared at Dinas shed for the day's service trains to Rhyd Ddu, coaling and watering takes place before a footplate ride up the length of the line.
