Railway Twins
The Leighton Buzzard Railway is twinned with the P'tit train de Haute Somme in Northern France. This film looks at the large collection of operational locomotives operating on both lines. Gala time on the Somme has an intensive train service up the 1:30 gradient to the plateau with 5 different locomotives. At Leighton Buzzard 8 different locomotives are seen during regular service and on the day of the Indian Gala.

Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway
The Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway was built as a country railway connecting the farms of the Banwy valley with the market town of Welshpool. It is unusual in the U.K. as a 2'6" gauge line. Still using the original locomotives supplied by Beyer Peacock in 1902 the line passes through beautiful Welsh farming country. Welsh Highland Railway
Covering the history, present day and future plans for the Welsh Highland Railway, including the Porthmadog and Caerrnarfon Railways. The original WHR was built on the trackbeds of the North Wales Narrow Gauge and the Porthmadog, Beddgelert & South Snowdon Railways but lasted until only 1937.

The new WHR is currently being rebuilt in 4 phases and now runs 13 miles from Caernarfon to Rhyd Ddu. It uses NGG16 Beyer Garratts from South Africa on its 1:40 gradients. The Porthmadog Company operates Heritage Experience trains and plans to build northwards to meets the Caernarfon company's extension southwards.
